Creating buildings + homes

for moments & memories

“Highly recommend working with Jointbah. Friendly, courteous and meticulous attention to detail. We worked with Davo to design our dream home - he did a wonderful job of narrowing in on our needs and wants to create a unique yet practical design that fit our family.”

Inspired by country, setting + its materiality, recollections from travel experiences + cultural narratives. Jointbah is a small design + carpentry studio with a love for making the places people live.

The “joint” in jointbah represents the collaborative nature of each project culturally + socially environmentally + economically. The studio values the strong relationships that form between the project, clients brief, the site setting + its history and the workers on a site. As a small scaled studio we design, draft and hand make select projects bringing onboard other skilled professionals and craftspeople to add to the collaborative process.

Davo completed a carpentry apprenticeship in 2008. He studied a Diploma of Building Design at Nambour Tafe + completed a CertIV-Low Rise Building Registration. Ignited by an interest in design Davo went on to complete a Bachelor of Design + Masters of Architecture at QUT in Brisbane.

The studio began in 2020. Preceding this Davo worked as a carpenter throughout Queensland for builders such as Tony Morwood + Boydbuilt and in more remote parts of Australia, Strezleki Desert, Mitchell, Thargo, K’Gari + Mparntwe. Throughout his studies + post studies he was mentored through architecture work by Sparks Architects.
