The Bluff House is the renovation of an existing 80’s timber and brick home. The site is located within walking distance to the Alex’ Bluff on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Through respecting the existing hardwood structure + brick, careful alterations are made to cater for a growing family.

The headland at the bluff has been shaped by the Coral Sea and subsequent East Coast weather patterns. New built forms and construction details subtly reflect the Bluff’s natural forms while adapting to the local climate. The project locality informs a simple material palette which intrinsically links this home to the site.
